Day 1
Arrival Zurich airport – Lucerne

You arrive at Zurich airport and will be welcomed by your personal SwissSafari driver/guide (surprise welcome!). Short drive to the beautiful town Lucerne, where you will spend your first day/night to recuperate from the flight. Lodging in a first class romantic Hotel. Your driver/guide is at your service on request.

Day 2
Lucerne – Brienz - Grindelwald

Enjoy your buffet breakfast and meet the guide for a 1 hr leisurely walking tour in Lucerne. You will see the old town, the famous Chapel Bridge, the lions monument and will have some time at leisure. After noon: enjoy a 1 hr boat cruise on beautiful Lake Lucerne, surrounded by mountains, to Hergiswil where your driver/guide will be awaiting you. Scenic drive over Brünig Pass to the famous Jungfrau region. Time at leisure in the rural woodcarver village Brienz and visit of the famous woodcarving factory JOBIN. Scenic drive along deep blue lake Brienz to Interlaken. Some time at leisure and scenic drive to the the mountain resort Grindelwald, beautifully set at the foot of mountain Eiger. Lodging in a first class Hotel with mountain view.

Day 3 Grindelwald and Jungfrau Joch Meet your driver/guide after breakfast for an exciting day! Short drive to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, also called the valley of 100 waterfalls. Visit of the Trümmelbach waterfalls, 10 falls inside the rocks and made accessible by a tunnel lift. Short drive to the railway station where you enter a modern cogwheeltrain to the Jungfrau Joch – Top of Europe on a summit of 3’454 metres. Visit the Ice Palace and step outside on the look out platform and enjoy the breathtaking view over the mountain peaks and the glacier. Take the cogwheeltrain to Grindelwald, to finish with your round trip and meet your driver there. Short drive to your hotel and rest of the day on your own. Lodging in Grindelwald

Day 4
Grindelwald – Gstaad – Les Diablerets – Montreux - Zermatt

Breakfast and room check-out. Departure for a scenic drive along Lake Thun to the famous mountain resort Gstaad. Time at leisure. Scenic drive over the mountain pass Col des Mosses to the lake Geneva area, the french speaking part and wine area of Switzerland. Time at leisure in the music city Montreux, beautifully set at the Lake. As a highlight of this day you visit the castle Chillon (1 hr guided), the 13^th century fortress made famous by the poems of Lord Byron. Scenic drive through orchards and wineyards to the valley of the river Rhone and to Täsch, where we have to leave the tour car behind. Local Taxi to the car free village Zermatt, set at the foot of mighty Matterhorn. Lodging in a first class Hotel with Matterhorn view. Candle light dinner

Day 5

Zermatt

Enjoy the village Zermatt and the mighty Matterhorn on your own. There are many attractions in and around Zermatt, like a trip by cable car to the Little Matterhorn or a train ride to the Gornergrat. There are also many biking and hiking trails on which you can explore the beautiful scenery of this alpine region. Ask your driver for details or for a guided village walk. Lodging in Zermatt

Day 6

Zermatt – Simplon Pass – Centovalli – Italy - Ascona

Breakfast and room check-out. Your driver/guide will await you after breakfast. Local Taxi to Täsch where the tour car is awaiting you. Scenic drive through the valley of the Rhone to the city Brig and scenic drive over Simplon Pass to Italy and to the southern part of Switzerland. Be enchanted of the diversity of this little country and enjoy the mediterranean region where palm trees are growing. You stay in the most romantic little town Ascona, nicely set at Lake Maggiore. Rest of the day on your own. Lodging in a first class hotel with lake view. Romantic “Grotto-dinner” included. Day 7 Ascona Enjoy the romantic small town Ascona on your own. Beuatiful old town with romantic alleys, small boutiques, antique shops and galleries, lake front with restaurants, typically ticinese Grottos. Boat cruises to Locarno, to Italy or to the Brissago Islands with its beautiful Botanical garden. Your driver/guide is at your service for a scenic drive along the lake if deisred. Lodging in Ascona

Ascona – St. Gotthard Pass or tunnel - Zurich

Breakfast and room check-out. Have some more time at leisure in romantic Ascona! Meet your guide after noon for a departure to the St. Gotthard Pass. Visit of the Hospize and interesting museum on top of the pass. Scenic highway to Zurich with arrival in the evening. Short time for shopping in Zurich at the legendary Bahnhofstreet. Lodging in a first class city or airport hotel. Day 9 Zurich – Departure Private transfer to the airport and departure. One more night/day in Zurich on request.
